GET TO KNOW MADELEINE
I'm a cis-gender white woman, originally from traditional Algonquin territory in Ontario (Ottawa), descended from European and British settlers and immigrants. I humbly acknowledge that I am now an uninvited settler on the land of the Teechamitsa, Songhees, Esquimalt, and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, and I respectfully honour their customs, traditions, and relationships with the land which continue to this day.
I have always been drawn to supporting others through the highs and lows of life. My interest in counselling began in my very first psychology class. Learning about the ways in which humans think, feel, behave, and relate to each other fascinated me, and I continue to be amazed by how we work! From caring for friends, to offering support to youth in crisis, volunteering as a counsellor and then completing a Master's of Counselling, being of service to others is really important to me.
Over the years, and with lots of training, I have deepened my understanding of what helps to facilitate change, growth, and healing. This learning is ongoing, because there's always exciting new information to find. When I'm not counselling, I can be found reading, spending time in nature with my dog Pepper, cooking new recipes, and connecting with loved ones.If you'd like to find out if counselling with me feels like a fit, please get in touch. I'd love to get to know you.

If you attend in-person sessions and you like dogs, sometimes Pepper can join us to add a soft, warm, playful energy to the therapy work we do. She's an Australian Labradoodle, so she's hypoallergenic.
